Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are utilised to target a wide variety of skin conditions such as enhancing skin tone and complexion, reducing the appearance of freckles, fine lines, wrinkles and mild scarring, as well as improving some types of acne by decreasing pore size and oiliness of the skin. To obtain the most satisfactory results, peel treatments are completed over 4 sessions at 2 week intervals. Peel Treatments are a unique way to achieve excellent aesthetic enhancement with very minimal downtime. The strength, depth and type of peel used will determine the level of skin peeling, the duration of downtime and the overall result. Initial consultation with Dr Horsburgh will enable a thorough debrief of the treatment and your desired outcome to be discussed with the formulation of the perfect peel treatment plan to suit each individual. Skin peel treatments will be conducted by either the doctor or cosmetically trained registered nurse, Kati.

At Southside Skin we currently offer various types of skin peel treatments:

Mask Peel

A light peel which is beneficial for acne prone patients with excessive sebum production, dilated pores and oily-skin. This 10 minute peel helps to tighten pores and enhance dull complexions with no downtime.

Milk Peel

A superficial peel which concentrates on the outermost layers of the skin and consists of a combination of glycolic, salicylic and lactic acids. Milk peels will help regulate oily skin, improves fine lines and wrinkles as well as evening out skin tones.

Spot Peel

Reduces appearance of melasma and pigment spots.

Cosmo Peel

A superficial to medium peel dependent on concentration used. Cosmo peels re available in 4 different concentrations, 12%, 15% – superficial peelĀ 18%, 20% – medium peel which will determine the depth of skin layers treated. This peel enhances the skins tone and complexion, improves pigmentation disorders as well as reducing signs of ageing.

Cosmetic Skin Lesion Removals

Skin checks are essential in providing early diagnosis and removal of cancerous skin lesions. However, occasionally clients develop non-cancerous skin irregularities which they desire to have removed for aesthetic purposes. Cosmetic skin lesion removal is commonly undertaken for unwanted harmless lesions, skin tags and age warts. Here at Southside Skin we can provided various procedures to assist with cosmetic skin lesion removal similar to removal of cancerous lesions.
